I have found that a morning’s walk, meditation, Morning Pages or all three puts me in a good space to deal with the rest of my day. I gain much inspiration on my walks and the surrounding gardens and water and find it best to do so before I check in on Facebook or Twitter or my emails. This photo was taken this morning and the vibrant colour of the blue and green called out as I looked up.
What surprised me was my first instant thought – not some romantic line from Thoreau or Whitman but that earworm phrase of long ago that obviously still sits in the recesses of my mind – “Blue and green should never be seen without a colour in between”. Seriously?
And so it got me thinking of all the old crazy rules and belief systems that hold us back. Phrases and sayings that may have served us well in a different era, a different century; but hold no purpose or relevance for us now. Phrases that feed our fears and speak to our self doubt. So time to declutter and be mindful of the use of words and phrases.
And as I type I come across this post on Elizabeth Gilbert’s Facebook Page.
So leading up to the end of 2014 I will be working on my profile, decluttering and creating space for the new in 2015. I will also be taking more photos and you can visit me on Instagram for my daily visual inspirations – click here.
What are you throwing away?
PS: This morning as I reached for my mobile phone to check the time (4.45 am) I quickly checked into my Facebook Page (kind of contrary to what I said above re Morning Pages …) and within the minute this link popped up on my screen on synchronicity by Amy Lanksy entitled “When you have the right vibe its not a coincidence – synchronicity …” Click here for the link. So of course that got me up to do my Morning Pages, write this and off I am for my morning walk. And as I re-read my words of yesterday I am again conscious of not only what I say but what I write! Nothing like a blog post to make you accountable.
